OS-CIT: Odisha State Certificate in Information Technology
OS-CIT is an Information Technology (IT) literacy course initiated by OKCL in 2011. It is designed to conduct IT literacy courses recognized by the Government of Odisha. This course comprises:
- Reading and understanding a highly illustrated book
- eLearning based self-learning sessions
- Through OKCL's eLearning Revolution for All (ERA)
- Providing hands-on practice sessions.
- Learning facilitation by certified professionals

2. What is the subject wise weightage for the Final OS-CIT examination?

3. What will be the duration of the examination and the time of the examination? Duration of the Final OS-CIT exam is 1 hour, the exam will consist of 50 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The scheduled time of examination will be communicated by the ALC. Please take a note that the examination will be held on the date as printed on the Admit Card.
4. What are the things the Students needs to carry for to the Exam Centre? The Student needs to carry the follow things to the exam centre:
1.Admit Card
2.Any Govt. Identity Proof/ School ID Card
5. From where the students can download their Admit Card? The Admit Card of the students can be download from the logins of Authorised Learning Centre (ALC) in which they have taken admission before 1 week of examination.
6. Which students will be eligible for the Final OS-CIT Examination? Students who secure minimum 20 marks out of 50 marks in the internal evaluation through Open ERA/OES by the scheduled date will be eligible to sit for the Final OS-CIT examination.
7. What if the Student doesn’t appear for the Final Exam? What is the pass mark in Final examination? Student has to secure minimum 20 marks to pass the final exam and be eligible for final OS-CIT Certification by Odisha State Open University (OSOU)
8. What if the Student doesn’t appear for the Final Exam? The Student will be marked absent and will be eligible to sit for the next exam event on payment of re-examination fees of Rs 250/-. Re examination payment can be done for 2 consecutive exam only.
9. What if the Student doesn’t appear for the Final Exam? The Student will eligible to sit for the next exam event on payment of re-examination fees of Rs 250/-. Re examination payment can be done for 2 consecutive exam only.
10. What can I do to ensure my students do not fail in exam?OKCL will conduct Mock Tests for every batch, you must ensure all your learners appear for the Mock Test. The purpose of conducting Mock Test is to make the learner aware of the examination pattern and practice on sample papers. The questions pattern of the final examination will be similar to the Mock Tests.
11. How do I ensure 100% attendance of all students in exam? You can motivate your students about the reputation of OSOU, the importance of OSOU certificate & recognition of a university certificate in the job sectors.
12. How can my ALC become the exam centre? ALCs may be declared as examination centre considering various reasons by Odisha State Open University. The decision taken by OSOU is final.
